From our concierge staff to the maintenance workers and cleaners, The Gotham’s essential workers are making our work from home lives possible. We want to say THANK YOU while recognizing their dedication.

The fundraiser is closed! Together we raised over $3,500 which allowed us to give all 12 essential workers $275 after fees. All Team Gotham members were given a VISA gift card, jar of Lucky Karp bath soaks and a personalized thank you card from all of us

Our intention

To make a difference and help the people who have helped my family, and yours. For more than a month now, most of us have been sheltering in place, doing our part to keep ourselves and our neighbors safe and healthy while COVID-19 turns the world on its side. And it’s been hard. But other folks -- the men and women who keep our “shelter” running smoothly -- haven’t slowed down. This page has been set-up to show our thanks and our compassion for the staff of The Gotham, and to raise funds to offset the struggles many are experiencing.

the backstory

Thousands of people are in quarantine in Jersey City in an attempt to prevent further spread of the disease. My own family of three sheltered in place and by doing so we moved all of our in-person shopping online, creating more packages and more waste. Multiply that by 200+ units in this building. We created a surge /a ripple effect/ impact on our frontline workers, our building staff who make it possible for us to self-quarantine.

My 9 year-old and I believe that everyone can do something, especially for our frontline staff members who we know -- and who know us -- by name. The question was, how could we turn this belief into action?

Let’s do the math

There are 21 floors full of apartments in the building (10-12 units/floor)
A fundraising goal of ~$100 per floor would mean: 21 x $100 = $2,100 building-wide
Now is the time to reach high... which is why we have set the building-wide goal at $2,500.
